💨 Abstract
Thousands of Tibetan Buddhists gathered in Dharamshala, India, to celebrate the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama, who announced plans to reincarnate. The Dalai Lama, living in exile since 1959, was expected to deliver a speech amid heavy rain. Notably, he emphasized that his successor should be found according to traditional Buddhist practices, sparking concerns from among exiled Tibetans that China may appoint its own successor.
