💨 Abstract
In Dhaka, Bangladesh, hundreds of thousands of supporters of the largest Islamist party, Jamaat-e-Islami, rallied on Saturday to showcase their strength before upcoming elections. The rally, allowed for the first time on a historic site, signals a shift with Islamists gaining momentum. The interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, has not ruled out early elections in February, as demanded by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, and April is the tentative date.
