đź’¨ Abstract

Britain will lower its voting age from 18 to 16 for national elections to boost democratic participation. This change aligns with existing policies in Scotland, Wales, and several other countries. Additional reforms include tighter campaign financing rules, automatic voter registration, and the use of bank cards as voter ID. Critics of previous voter ID requirements cited potential disenfranchisement. The reforms aim to increase public trust and engagement in U.K. democracy.
