💨 Abstract

A bus traveling from Lima to Peru's Amazon region overturned in the Andes, resulting in 18 deaths and 48 injuries. The double-decker bus fell down a slope in the Junín region. Authorities are investigating the cause, though recklessness and speeding are common causes of accidents in Peru. This is the second fatal bus accident in 2025, with poor road monitoring and slow emergency assistance being major issues.
