💨 Abstract
Congo and Rwanda-backed rebels signed a declaration in Qatar to end long-term fighting in eastern Congo. The agreement commits both sides to a permanent ceasefire and a comprehensive peace deal to be signed by August 18. This follows the rebels' seizure of two key cities. The conflict has displaced 7 million people, making it one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises.
