💨 Abstract

A fire at Iran's oldest and largest refinery in Abadan, Iran, killed one worker on Saturday. The fire, caused by a leaky pump, was extinguished in two hours, and operations continued unaffected. The refinery, which started operating in 1912, produces about 25% of Iran's fuel. Several other fires have occurred in Iran this past week, attributed to gas leaks and electrical issues.
