💨 Abstract

On July 30, 2025, a powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Russia's Far East coast, triggering a tsunami and flooding a fishing port in Kamchatka. The region, known for its volcanic activity, experienced waves up to 6 meters (19.5 feet) but reported only a few injuries. Authorities had prepared for the event and swiftly evacuated residents, avoiding major damage.
