💨 Abstract
On Nelson Mandela Day, South African chefs, cooks, and students prepared 67,000 liters of soup to feed the hungry, honoring Mandela's 67 years of public service. The event, organized by Chefs with Compassion and other volunteers, aimed to combat hunger and food waste. South Africa, despite being a leading food producer, faces severe food insecurity, with 63.5% of households lacking consistent access to food.
