💨 Abstract

Renewed clashes have erupted in southern Syria between Druze armed groups and Bedouin clans, prompting government forces to prepare for redeployment. Earlier, a ceasefire brokered by regional and international actors had halted days of intense fighting, which had Israeli airstrikes against Syrian forces due to their support for the Bedouins. The Druze, a significant minority, had been left in charge of maintaining security in the Sweida province under the ceasefire.
