💨 Abstract

In Chad, the prosecutor general has sought a 25-year prison sentence for former Prime Minister and opposition leader Succès Masra. Masra is accused of inciting racial violence and causing clashes between herders and farmers in May, resulting in 35 deaths and six injuries. Masra has denied the charges. Additionally, the prosecutor seeks the freezing of Masra's assets and 5 billion West African Francs in compensation. Nine other defendants may be released due to insufficient evidence.
