💨 Abstract

Haiti's government declared a three-month state of emergency in the central region to combat surging gang violence and address agricultural and food crises. The affected areas, known as Haiti’s rice basket, have seen over 1,000 deaths, 200 injuries, and 620 kidnappings from October 2024 to June 2025. More than 239,000 people have been displaced.
