💨 Abstract
On August 11, 2025, Israel's military conducted an airstrike that killed two Al Jazeera journalists, Anas al-Sharif and Mohamed Qureiqa, along with six others near the Gaza City Hospital. Israel claimed al-Sharif was a Hamas member, an accusation Al Jazeera denied. The strike damaged the hospital, and press advocates condemned it as retaliation against journalists reporting on the Gaza war.
