💨 Abstract
In northwestern Pakistan, over 150 people are missing after a cloudburst caused severe flooding in the mountainous district of Buner. The death toll has reached 277, with locals blaming officials for lack of warning, while the government asserts the downpour was too sudden. Pakistan has experienced extreme monsoon rains, resulting in at least 645 deaths nationwide. Relief efforts are underway as the U.N. and other agencies provide aid and prepare for long-term recovery.
