💨 Abstract
Flash floods in India-controlled Kashmir's remote village of Chositi have left at least 60 dead and many missing after torrential rains triggered flooding and landslides. Rescue teams, including local villagers, are searching for survivors. The deluge damaged homes, swept away vehicles, and halted an annual Hindu pilgrimage. Cloudbursts, exacerbated by climate change and unplanned development, are becoming more frequent and dangerous in the Himalayan region.
