💨 Abstract
An Indonesian court sentenced Australian citizen Lamar Aaron Ahchee to 12 years in prison for smuggling 1.7 kilograms of cocaine to Bali. Ahchee, arrested in May, denied knowledge of the drugs, but the court considered the large quantity and his evasiveness. The sentence was harsher than the prosecutor's request of nine years. The judge highlighted the potential harm to Bali's tourism and public safety.
