💨 Abstract
After multiple incidents involving large groups of youth in popular areas like Navy Yard, The Wharf, and U Street, DC Council approved changes to the curfew law. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Pamela Smith proposed moving the weekend curfew from midnight to 11 p.m. for those 17 and under in July and August. Bowser also suggested allowing the chief to declare a 15-day emergency curfew at 7 p.m.
