💨 Abstract
The U.S. government, under former President Trump, agreed not to deport José Ramón Hernández Reyes, a key witness in a federal case against Kilmar Ábrego García, in exchange for his cooperation. Hernández Reyes, convicted for migrant trafficking and illegal re-entry, has been released early from federal prison and permitted to stay in the U.S. for at least a year.
