On Friday, a gas station in southeast Rome exploded, injuring at least 20 people, including eight police officers and a firefighter, according to local authorities. The blast was heard across the city, causing a huge black smoke and fire cloud. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri reported that injuries were minor. Two subsequent explosions occurred after police and firefighters arrived, prompted by a gas leak report. Eight police officers and one firefighter suffered burns but are stable.
