💨 Abstract

Sukie Green found that her puppy, Billie, was difficult to train and control. Eventually, she realized that Billie was profoundly deaf. Sukie, who teaches baby sign language, adapted signing techniques to communicate with Billie, teaching him various commands using hand gestures and treats. Despite not hearing, Billie has learned multiple commands and even uses "shared looking" to communicate. Sukie emphasizes the positive aspects of having a deaf dog, encouraging others to consider them for adoption.
