McClure found numerous websites allowing image "nudification," mostly targeting women and often creating non-consensual pornography. She aimed to push for stricter regulations in New Zealand, similar to the UK law that criminalizes creating or sharing explicit deepfakes without consent. Statistics show significant concerns about deepfake porn, particularly among young people and women.
