💨 Abstract

Eight regions in the UK will receive £15 billion to enhance tram, train, and bus connections. The funds, announced by Chancellor Rachel Reeves, prioritize public transport in the North and Midlands, following the nationalization of South Western Railway. Greater Manchester tops the list with £2.5 billion, aiming to extend its network and improve seamless travel. West Midlands, West Yorkshire, and other regions will also see significant improvements. Reeves highlights the importance of connectivity for economic growth and reducing regional disparities.
