June 6, 2025, marks the 81st anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy during World War II, a turning point in defeating Hitler. On June 6, 1944, around 156,000 Allied forces from the UK, US, and Canada landed on five beaches over a 50-mile stretch, heavily fortified by Nazi forces.
