💨 Abstract
Around 500,000 UK residents are on heat networks, which supply heating and hot water from a central source. Many customers, like Alfonso, feel their bills are too high and lack transparency. Heat networks are unregulated, allowing operators to set prices without explanation and pass on high wholesale energy costs. Inefficiencies in heat transfer also drive up costs. Current solutions include reducing consumption and complaining to the Energy Ombudsman.
