💨 Abstract

Scientists have recorded brain activity during death, revealing patterns similar to dreaming and memory recall. A study found that the brain may replay significant life events just before death, offering a comforting perspective. Additionally, hospice nurses report phenomena like "visioning," where patients see deceased loved ones, and "the death reach," where patients appear to reach out to someone unseen. These experiences are often comforting and occur close to the time of death.
