💨 Abstract
The Home Office has launched a national police operation to tackle grooming gangs, following the upcoming release of a major report on the issue. Sir Keir Starmer announced a national inquiry into institutional failings that allowed widespread child sexual exploitation. This decision comes after months of insistence on local probes and after reviewing Baroness Louise Casey's report. The Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, condemned the failure to listen to victims and announced an operation led by the National Crime Agency to track down gang members.
