Daniel Cook, 39, stabbed his mother Ellen, 72, 30 times after a family argument, shouting "I want her to die." Cook, who has schizophrenia, accused his mother of poisoning him during a Sunday roast. Despite his father's attempts to intervene, Cook continued the attack outside, leading to Ellen's death. Cook admitted to manslaughter with diminished responsibility and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 21 years.
