💨 Abstract
The rabies virus claimed the life of 59-year-old Yvonne Ford from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, who had been scratched by a dog during a trip to Morocco. The virus, often symptom-free initially, resulted in Ford's death within a few weeks of her return home. Her family has shared a video of her dancing, stressing the rapid onset of symptoms and urging serious consideration of animal bites and vaccinations. Public health authorities are evaluating contacts but report no wider risk.
