💨 Abstract
A man named Lee Stuart was threatened with a criminal conviction after canceling his TV license, despite agreeing with an inspector that he only used streaming services. The inspector's report was inconsistent, leading to a prosecuted under the single justice procedure (SJP). Stuart contested the case and proved his innocence in court. Magistrates dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence. TV Licensing reviewed the case and found no failings.
