💨 Abstract

In New York, a 17-foot-tall pigeon statue, titled ‘Dinosaur,’ sparked a city-wide enthusiasm for pigeons. The High Line hosted a pigeon pageant, where contestants dressed as pigeons competed in categories like 'plumage' and 'coo.' Miriam Abrahams, a volunteer, won for her lifelike costume. The statue, due to be on display until next spring, has made pigeons a symbol of marginality and community.
