đ¨ Abstract
Pet owners are increasingly struggling with high veterinary costs, leading some to delay or forgo treatment, or even euthanize their pets. The cost of veterinary care has surged by over 60% in the last decade, outpacing inflation. Corporations owning many vet practices have been blamed for price hikes, which are also driven by advanced medical treatments and rising operational costs. Pet insurance is rare, and many owners go into debt or make financial sacrifices to afford care.
