💨 Abstract

In New York City's mayoral Democratic primary, Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old Muslim socialist, emerged as a surprise leader with 43% of the vote. His wife, Rama Duwaji, a 28-year-old Syrian illustrator and animator, gained prominence after Mamdani shared their wedding pictures online in response to criticism from right-wing trolls. Rama's political artwork focuses on issues like the Palestinian conflict.
