💨 Abstract

A deputy head teacher at Red Rose Primary School, Claire Herbert, was found to have bit, scratched, and slapped a child in an incident involving alcohol in June 2022. Despite this, a tribunal allowed her to continue teaching, noting it was an isolated incident and she showed remorse. However, the tribunal concluded she had engaged in "unacceptable professional behavior" that could bring the profession into disrepute. She accepted a police caution for common assault.
