💨 Abstract
Jon Hallford, a funeral home owner in Penrose, Colorado, was jailed for 20 years after keeping nearly 200 decomposing bodies in his facility and providing fake ashes to families. The discovery was made after residents complained of a foul smell. Hallford admitted to wire fraud and misusing nearly $900,000 in Covid relief funds. He also pleaded guilty to 191 counts of corpse abuse and other charges.
