💨 Abstract

Jon Hallford, a funeral home owner in Colorado, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for keeping nearly 200 decomposing bodies hidden while giving families fake ashes. The bodies were found in a deteriorating building after locals complained of a foul odor. Hallford also pleaded guilty to fraud, misuse of COVID relief funds, and numerous other charges. He and his wife, Carie, had collected money for services never provided.
