💨 Abstract

Two children, aged nine and seven, were discovered in a remote Italian farm, unregistered and unable to speak or write. They lived in isolation, allegedly homeschooled by their Dutch parents who cited protection from infections. The children were found dirty and speaking only a primitive language. They were taken into care after the Turin Juvenile Court ruled they lacked adequate parental assistance. The parents, who spoke limited Italian, insisted they provided the children with various activities and protections.
