💨 Abstract
Every summer, flying ants emerge, and seagulls that feast on them can appear "drunk" or disoriented. This behavior is believed to be due to over-eating in hot weather rather than the previous theory of formic acid in ants. These gulls become vulnerable to traffic and other dangers. Experts advise slowing down and giving them space if spotted behavings strangely. The phenomenon is misinterpreted as a sickly behaviour.
