💨 Abstract
An 18-year-old counselor, Chloe Childress, was among 27 campers and counselors who died in Texas floods at Camp Mystic. Childress, who had just graduated from The Kinkaid School, was working at the camp when the Guadalupe River flooded. She was known for her compassion and community-building skills. The camp's director, Richard 'Dick' Eastland, also died while trying to save girls.
