💨 Abstract
The court heard about Samantha Mickleburgh, 54, who was raped and murdered by her former fiancé, James Cartwright. Mickleburgh ended their relationship two months prior, but agreed to stay with him on his 60th birthday at the Pennyhill Park Hotel in Surrey. She informed friends and family that this would be the last time she saw him. Cartwright, described as controlling and coercive, is accused of killing Ms. Mickleburgh.
