💨 Abstract
The Bosnian War severely impacted the author's life, taking away their home, family members, and childhood innocence. Initially, life in Barane was carefree, but war turned games into simulations of conflict. The siege of Sarajevo and subsequent events led to the author's family fleeing repeatedly, eventually facing forced displacement into concentration camps. The author and their family endured immense hardship, including separation, starvation, and witnessing violence. After relocation to the UK, the family struggled with PTSD and trauma.
