💨 Abstract
A recent protest in Manhattan against Zohran Mamdani, the possible next mayor of New York City was labeled "bizarre." Protesters gathered at City Hall, waving various flags and banners, and singing the national anthem. They chanted against Mamdani, who they accused of being a socialist, communist, and anti-Semite. Mamdani, a Shia Muslim and Democratic socialist, won the Democratic primary and faces backlash from conservatives.
