💨 Abstract
An eruption of the Sundhnúkur volcano near Reykjavik, Iceland, the 12th since 2021, has caused evacuations in the Reykjanes Peninsula. The Blue Lagoon and nearby Grindavik were evacuated due to the danger from spewing orange lava and smoke. The Icelandic Meteorological Office and the Foreign Office have issued advisories on volatility Tourists have been warned about might decide to reschedule.
