đ¨ Abstract
On September 7, the UK will conduct its second nationwide test of an emergency alert system to be sent to 87 million mobile devices. At around 3 pm, devices will vibrate for ten seconds, displaying a test alert message, prompting people not to take immediate action. This system, which has proven useful in previous emergencies like Storm Eowyn and an unexploded bomb incident in Plymouth, will send messages via 4G and 5G networks.
