💨 Abstract
On a recent episode of Antiques Roadshow, an expert valued a set of silver spoons once belonging to Captain James Cook at £20,000. The spoons, dated 1750 and engraved with Cook's initials, were valued highly due to their provenance of having been used during Cook's voyage to Australia in 1770. The owner, a descendant of Cook, was initially unaware of their immense value.
