💨 Abstract

An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Russia’s far east, triggering tsunami warnings across the Pacific. Tsunamis hit the Kuril Islands and Hokkaido, with waves reaching up to 10 feet. Nearly 2 million people evacuated in Japan, and warnings were issued for China, Hawaii, and western U.S. coasts. Residents were urged to move to higher ground, and authorities remain on high alert.
