💨 Abstract
When "Pokémon" initially launched, its success was uncertain, especially in Japan. Nintendo of America suggested significant changes to the characters for the U.S. release, including redesigning Pikachu with "huge breasts," aiming to make the characters look less cute and more edgy. The suggestion, made around 1999, was rejected by Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara.
