💨 Abstract
Devastating wildfires in Spain, France, and southeastern Europe have caused fatalities and evacuations. In France, one person died, and 25 homes were destroyed. Spain saw evacuations in a beach resort area. Meanwhile, Turkey, Greece, and Bulgaria also faced severe wildfires, with Turkey reporting 17 fatalities, including firefighters. The fires are exacerbated by a 44°C heatwave and strong winds.
