A botulism outbreak linked to jarred broccoli in oil has resulted in one fatality and nine hospitalizations in Italy. Luigi Di Sarno, 52, died after consuming a broccoli sandwich. The outbreak spans multiple regions, with the disease traced back to improperly canned broccoli. Other Italian regions reported similar cases, including in Sardinia, where Roberta Pitzalis, 38, died from botulism linked to guacamole.
