💨 Abstract

Vladimir Putin faces an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant for alleged war crimes in Ukraine, specifically the trafficking of Ukrainian children. As a non-member of the ICC, the U.S. is not obligated to arrest Putin during his visit to Alaska for a meeting with President Trump. However, as an ICC member, Mongolia faced pressure to arrest Putin during his 2024 visit but did not, citing energy dependence on Russia and China.
