💨 Abstract

In the UK, about 37 million people have stolen glasses from pubs or restaurants, costing the industry nearly £130 million annually. Publicans, like Jeremy Clarkson and Odette Gibson, find this theft frustrating and financially draining, sometimes costing them hundreds to thousands of pounds. Theft impacts small businesses significantly, leading to price increases. While some pub owners try deterrents, the issue persists due to customers' disregard for the costs involved.
