💨 Abstract
During a family hike up Snowdon, the author was surprised by frequent and loud swearing from fellow hikers. Although open to swearing herself, she finds the constant and loud use of expletives, especially in front of children, disrespectful. She argues for more mindful swearing, suggesting a social etiquette that respects others, particularly in public spaces with families.
